For me, living inside the box brought apathy, exhaustion, and regret. Something always had to be ignored, repressed, or overcome. However, once I stepped outside the box, I was energized and delighted by what I saw: a bold and imperfect collection of me. They shouldn't all make sense together, but they do. They should confuse me, but they radiate and draw me forward instead. Claiming myself as I am, without consideration for the comfort or convenience of others, has been one of the most significant journeys of my life. This piece tells a small fraction of that story, and I hope it will whisper freedom to you as well.
